Dedicated to the memory of Julian Heawood 1938 - 2025

Husband, father, brother, son, grandfather, uncle, chorister, doodlebugger!  Our dad was a beautiful human being.  We will miss him dearly and keep him in our hearts forever.

Born in Kampala, Uganda in 1938 Julian was a chorister in Westminster Abbey Choir between 1947 - 1952, he sang at the wedding of Princess Elizabeth and HRH The Duke of Edinburgh on 20th November 1947 and when he left school he joined the army.  He fell in love with Pat after his family moved to Dore and the young couple emigrated to Australia by ship on the UK governments 'ten pound poms' scheme, where they were married in 1964 in St Thomas's anglican church in Toowong, Brisbane.

Last year was their 60th wedding anniversary, for which they received a congratulatory letter from HRH King Charles III and Queen Camilla.

This site is dedicated to Julian's memory, please hang around for a while...listen to some of his favourite music, check out the photo gallery or watch some video footage.

If you wish to do so, please add your own contributions to the site (videos, photos, music), add your own story or event to the timeline or simply share a thought or light a candle by clicking on the links in the main menu.
